Full Description
January 2018. 'Brecks from Above' and Breckland National Mapping Programme.
Banks are visible as earthworks on lidar imagery (S1), alongside a modern track which crosses the western edge of the boundary banks between Brandon Warren and Downham High Warren (SHER STN 035). It also forms the eastern edge of an area of post medieval flint mines (SHER BRD 066). The date of the banks is not known, and while the track appears to still be in use its origin could be relatively early, in which case its relationship with the warren banks and the flint mines is potentially significant. The earthworks were still extant in 2015.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 26th January 2018.
