Full Description
July 2019. Breckland National Mapping Programme.
A possible Frist World War practice trench can be seen as soilmarks on aerial photographs (S1). The possible trenches are in a roughly zig zag pattern and would have most likely related to the extensive area of practice trenches created as part of the “Elveden Explosive Area” Tank training ground (IKL 352 and WSW 101). The possible practice trench is similar to further areas of Frist World War Practice trenches to the west (IKL 352). An extent of area has been used to map the feature as the trenches are showing very faintly on the aerial photographs making it difficult to map accurately.
