Full Description

A single evaluation trench was located across new dwelling footings at the Pumping Station revealed a Medieval pit. The pits was sub circular, measuring 1.91m long, 1.83m wide and 0.8m deep with three fill containing Late 12th to 13th century pottery, animal bone, fired clay, Ceramic Building Material and residual prehistoric stuck and burnt flints. These were also recovered form the overlying subsoil (S1).

Included in the Proceedings of the Suffolk Institute of Archaeology and History annual round up of individual finds and discoveries for 2019 (S2).
