Full Description
Moat. Small square, unoccupied. Causeway to N, E side of which `mutilated by tipping'(S1). Opposite Willow Farm.
A small, weak, square moated yard situated on level ground and filled by surface drainage. It measures overall about 36.0m square with arms averaging 6.0m wide. The entrance, which has been mutilated by tipping, crosses the north arm; no trace of a building was found within the enclosure.
The feature is noted as "moated stockyard" on the Tithe Map of 1840, and is seems probable that was its purpose and it was not constructed for a homestead.
