Full Description

Gold coins in lead container, found circa 1820-1830 by Basil Brown's great- grandfather in Helmingham Park. Near the then 'Keeper's Cottage'. Basil Brown gives a description of the find as told to him by his grandmother. Basil's great grandfather had been one of the four men who found the hoard whilst tree felling near the church in the Park next to a stand of oaks known as the Seven Sisters (S1).
