John-o-Lidgate's House, formerly Suffolk House is a 16th century two storey timber framed house with plaster infil. The north west end is in red brick with a gable having crow stepped ornamentation and remains of octagonal chimney stacks. The site is locally associated with the house of John of Lidgate, a monk of Bury St Edmunds who was born in Lidgate circa 1370. Grade 2*. (S2)
