Full Description

Two flanged axes found in carrot wash from West Row Fen, unassociated, circa 1970-1972 (S1) (S3).
a) Length 11.75cm, blade 7.55cm wide. Expanded blade. Cast flanged axe with well developed flanges and faint transverse bevels. Crescentric butt and cutting edge (damaged). LEBA Arreton tradition form (S3). b) Length 15.0cm, blade 5.7cm wide. Haft flanged axe with leaf shaped flanges and slight stop ridge. Slightly pitted by invasive corrosion. EMBA form (S3).
