Full Description
Single ring ditch observed from air photographs, 1977.
Crossed by a new water main 1984 - site visited 19.1.1984 after topsoil stripping had taken place, however, the area was very churned up and nothing was observed.
29.2.84: During the excavation of the pipe trench, the ring ditch (approximate diameter 30m) was cut in two places and was approximately 4m wide and at least 2m deep. Two charcoal-rich patches were observed on the inner lip of the ditch. One produced two IA sherds and the other produced Belgic or early Rom base and a few other sherds.
