Summary

Lowestoft County and Magistrates’ Court was built in 1989 and was designed by the architect B. A. Ford of Suffolk County Council. The contractor of the building was R. G. Carter Ltd. The building is a purpose built court that consists of two storeys and features an attached Probation Service wing. The exterior of the building is made up of brown brick and green coloured glass and features a pitched and hipped roof. The interior of the building features three courtrooms; there is a main public hall in front of Court One and Two and a separate one in front of Court Three. Court One is an adult court and features a dock at the side of the courtroom. Court Three is used as a Family Proceedings and Youth Court as well as an adult one. The floor area of the building covers 326.07sq/m (1,069.80sq/ft).

The contractor of the building was R. G. Carter Ltd. The building is a purpose built court that consists of two storeys and features an attached Probation Service wing.
