Full Description

The cropmark of a possible late prehistoric or Roman settlement enclosure can be seen on EH Reconnaissance aerial photographs taken 2011. This site is situated to the west of Fenstead End and is centred on TL 8008 5088 and consists of the faint cropmarks of narrow ditches which define an irregular rectilinear enclosure with some internal features of ditches and pits. The enclosure is cut by the cropmark of a field boundary ditch that was still in use in 1905, but is also possibly cut by a much fainter ditch. This may represent a medieval or earlier field boundary and its northern side coincides with the line of the parish boundary.
