Full Description

1810 wreck of British craft which stranded near Orfordness during a storm. En route from Leeds and/or Kingston-upon-Hull to London, she was a wooden sailing vessel.
Status: Casualty

`The SUTTON, Best, from Leeds to London, is lost near Orfordness.' (1)

`In addition to the great number of vessels mentioned in our last as lost or damaged by the late dreadful storm on the eastern coast, the following are to be enumerated...The SUTTON, Best, from Hull to London, stranded at Orford. Crew drowned.' (3)

NB: The "late dreadful storm" referred to is that of 10-NOV-1810.
