Full Description
1791 wreck of English craft which stranded near Orfordness following a collision; a wooden sailing vessel.
Status: Casualty
`Newcastle, December 3, 1791...In the heavy gale of wind on Tuesday se'nnight, a vessel belonging to Capt. Ruffles, of Ipswich, ran down a large collier off Orfordness, by which the latter sunk almost instantaneously, and the other went on shore on the beach, where it is feared she will be totally lost.'
