`On Thursday last, as the Aldeburgh trawling boats were returning to the shore from catching soles, one of the largest boats, called the WILLIAM & HANNAH, was overset by a sudden gust of wind. William Ward, the owner of the boat, and Jonathan Salmon Jun., his mate, were obliged to commit themselves to the mercy of the sea at a distance of two miles from the shore. Providentially, while in this perilous situation, another boat came to their assistance and saved their lives, one of which was nearly past recovery.' (2)
