1781 wreck of English craft which was lost attempting to enter Orford Haven; a wooden sailing vessel.
Status: Casualty

`Newcastle, June 2, 1781...Last week the TRUE BRITAIN, Capt. Watt, of this port, was lost going into Orfordness.' (1)

NB: The conventional form of this name is TRUE BRITON, which has therefore been given as an alternate version of this vessel's name.
