ENGLISH BRIG, 1776

`Yarmouth, Jan.6: Tuesday last, a brig, supposed to belong to Hull, attempting to go over the Stanford too soon of (sic) the tide, struck so heavily, that she sunk off Pakefield, and all on board perished; the wind blowing hard at east and a great sea, no assistance could be given.' (1)
