Full Description

1825 wreck of English craft which stranded on a sand near Lowestoft during a gale. En route from Shields to London with coal, she was a wooden sailing vessel.
Status: Casualty

`The Suffolk Association for the Preservation of Lives of Shipwrecked Seamen awarded £28 7s to the crew of the Lowestoft lifeboat for saving the lives of the men on board the ANN.' (2)

`Yarmouth, 19th Jan. Yesterday morning it came on to blow very hard from the southward...the ANN, Charlton, and RENOWN, Chatness, both of and from Shields to London, sunk on the sands off Lowestoffe. Crew saved.' (3)
