ENGLISH CUTTER, 1861
Status: Casualty

`Was seen in distress on the weather side of the Holm Sand. The Lowestoft lifeboat VICTORIA was launched, saving the crew of seven and was then towed down to the lugger SAUCY LASS, to effect a second rescue.' (2)

`Lowestoft, 13th Nov: The wind flew round this morning from east to west, blowing hard; it is now more moderate. The Lowestoft lifeboat went off to the WHIM (pilot cutter) of Yarmouth, and brought her crew ashore, the vessel being in a dangerous position near the Holm Sand; the lifeboat and steam tug afterwards went out and brought her in.'
