1805 wreck of English transport vessel which stranded on the Newcome Sand; a wooden sailing vessel.

`The ADVENTURE, Mellemby (a transport) is lost on the Cockle Sand near Yarmouth. Crew saved.' (1)

`Yarmouth, Dec. 27. Yesterday the ADVENTURE, Mellemby, of London, struck on the Newcombe Sand, and is entirely lost. Crew saved.' (2)
