Full Description

A Timber-framed barn of late eighteenth century date is the sole surviving structure from a group of buildings located on the site. The barn was associated with a parsonage house, demolished in about 1840. The barn was constructed in three bays with intermediate posts, with a central bay possessing a wide opening for a pair of doors in its front or north wall. The frame was constructed on a red brick plinth. The north front is clad in weather-boarding, however evidence of earlier external treatment of plastered was visible on the east wall. Both received an application of tar in the second half of the nineteenth century. The barn ceased to be used for its original purpose in the Early Nineteenth century, then used for groom accommodation and stabling in conjunction with the replacement parsonage house of 1842 (S1).
