An undated deed to which Gerard, Prior of Ipswich, is one of the witnesses mentions that (? pre 1225) a monastery of Wervestede was united to the priory of Saints Peter and Paul, Ipswich (S1)(R1)(R2). No known trace of any monastic site at Wherstead nor any documentary confirmation.
