Full Description
A road is visible on Hodskinsons map of Suffolk 1783. The road would have connected, what is today known as, the B1077 (at the southwest end where it intersects with Clint Road) with Cranley Green Road (at the northeast end where it intersects with Cock's Road). Clint Road and Cock's Road appear to be extant parts of this road. On Hodskinsons map the road is part of a longer and major route between Thorndon and Hoxne. The route could originate in the medieval period.
A linear cropmark is visible on google earth which alligns with the southwest end of the road. The portion represented by the cropmark follows the parish boundary between Eye and Occold. A track is visible on the 1st edition OS map on the parish boundary but only on the first (approx) 1/4 of the original road length which will account for why that portion of the road survives as a cropmark.
