Full Description

A Former World War Two Prisoner Of War accommodation hut is located near to the roadside at the Old Rectory, Somerton. The building retains its original concrete frame structure and plan form. The original corrugated asbestos roof has been replaced by zinc sheeting. German officers were billeted at the Old Rectory, as well as a number of Italian POWs who were also billeted in the parish (S1).
