Full Description

Test pit three was excavated within the rear garden of a modern detached house, 28 March Place, in the north of Clare. The test pit was excavated to a depth of 0.65m without finding natural. Finds included two prehistoric worked flint flakes and a sherd of late medieval Sandy Ware pottery, found in post medieval contexts. A large quantity of post medieval pottery was also recovered, alongside clay tabacco pipes, iron nails, glass bottles, and a plastic toy soldier. A large amount of modern material was also recovered, largely household refuse (S1).
