Full Description

Test pit eight was excavated immediately to the north of the disused watermill at The Mill House. The pit was excavated to a depth of 0.75m before finding natural. A majority of the finds recovered date from the Victorian period onwards, although one large prehistoric worked flint flake was recovered, although not in situ. A number of animal bone fragments, cow and rabbit were also found. Additionally, there were a quantity of victorian pottery, iron nails, and glass bottle and container fragments. A quantity of household refuse was also recovered (S1).
