Full Description

Moat. Two fragments of long rectangle. Occupied, isolated, close to parish boundary (S1).
House is C15-C16 timbered. Spandrells carry crest of Hebby's family.
October 2002: Evaluation trenching and monitoring of footing trenches revealed part of an infilled medieval moat at Ebbs House, Combs. Bricks and household debris suggested that the infilling occurred largely in the 19th and 20th centuries. Details in (S2).
