Full Description

Remains of C13-C14 chapel, just S of Giffords Hall. "No dateable features survive but wall type indicates late C13/early C14" (S1). Similar to dated C13/C14 phase of building in gatehouse.
Built by Richard Constable, holder of Giffords Hall Manor in 1216. "Said to have been built... in the reign of Henry III", Torlesse "Some Account of Stoke by Nayland" (1877).
