Full Description

Stone shaft-hole macehead. Found circa 1977/1978 by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) whilst digging a hole for a tree in the rough garden between Brook House and the R Box, about 10-15 yards from the river. Associated with early C20 rubbish (the likely cause of the iron stain on the implement).
