Full Description
Moat. Asymetric, fragmentary, comprising two wet ditch sections (including a corner) on SE side and a dry ditch on N side about 2m higher than other 2 sections, occupied. Isolated position on parish boundary, 2.4km from church. OS regard moat as doubtful, possibly ornamental features and/or drainage ditches (S4).
Site of Domesday vill of Losam where Leustan held 1 1/2 carucates under Ranulf Peverell (the soke of 1 carucate of this belonged to Holy Trinity, Canterbury) (S1). For some reason Losam is recorded as being in Babergh Hundred and not Cosford.
Site of the manor of Loose Hall (S2).
