Full Description

Length of road 1820m long. Partly on line of present road and partly lined up with parish boundary and known road to the S Margary 33a.
See also THS 002, PKM 032 and RGH 017 (S1).

A geophysical survey comprising both a magnetometer and earth resistance survey was successful in showing traces of the Roman road- side ditches, and a possibility that the high resistance area between the ditch lines might have been the result of compaction of lower soil levels due to the metalled agger of the road. The field in questions has been plough for many years, and it seems likely that traces of the metalled surface of the road will have been lost over time, leaving only a slight raise in ground height, detachable to the south on Lidar., no trace of human occupation could be seen on either the magnetometer or earth resistance plots (S2).
