Full Description
Group of tile fragments, generally large pieces, including tegula, imbrex, box and plain flat types. Over half the roof and flat pieces have been heavily burnt but not the box tiles. May derive from tile manufacture or re- use in oven type structure (or, less likely, extreme fire damage to a domestic structure). Circumstances of discovery and precise location to be checked. Finds deposited at Woodbridge Museum with minimal information (S1). Probably relates to WBG 001, 005. Proximity to Deben estuary might suggest saltings but no briquetage included.
Further box tile fragments (including one burnt). Metalwork from area to the S of grid reference - a few coins (Antoninus Pius - 330's) and button & loop fastener as Wild Class I (S2).
Also BA spearhead.
