Full Description

'In a pit close by the railway line at Barnham, there was a black layer one inch thick covered with a foot of sand. The black layer contained pot boilers, flint flakes, chips, and a few implements including a disc and a well worked hollow scraper. This was on the 50 foot contour' (S1). The area was opened up by Newport Ltd in 1951 for gravel extraction and Basil Brown excavated same site - finds (BA, IA and Sax) and details given in BNH 012. Site now destroyed.
