Full Description

Brown 'fel stone' axe hammer.
1849: 'I bought at Bardwell a stone hammer, it was found in removing a barrow on Bowback Heath, about 9 years before. From the time the man found it till I bought it, he had used it to set his razor on, all the injury it had sustained by use is a little discoloured by the oil, it is very perfect and neatly made. Bowback Heath is in the parish of Bardwell. I remember several barrows on it, before it was inclosed' (S1).
See BAR 012 Un, for barrow `group'.
