Full Description

Remains of a Med pottery kiln found during Second World war, in gravel pit worked by (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s). Sherds in Ipswich Museum. Photograph of site. Correction of OS 1:10560 (6 inch) by Basil Brown 8/10/1950 (S1). Basil Brown records show that he investigated site, collected many sherds of circa C13 pottery, located evidence of the site of the kiln and photographed it. Photographs in archive also show pottery dump. He records that (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) son took some of the finds to Letchworth Museum but Brown was unable to locate them there (S2).
