Full Description

Neo flint found in sewer trench on Back Hills in 1960. Area is a multi period site generally referred to as "Back Hills" - Enclosure Act award 1815 granted to Lord of Manor for Botesdale Fair, gravel digging, letting of herbage, shown on Tithe map 1839 and 1846 (S1).
Grid references for site vary, Basil Brown quotes three, so area has been defined as shown on Tithe maps and given centred grid reference. This applies to finds from all periods.
