Basil Brown found sherd of black/brown pottery, undated, in April 1934 in garden of "Uplands", a house N of The Street, next to site of Rom find. He then made a small excavation and located masonry at 3.5 feet. He was told that it extended 30 yards away in paddock and he thought it was probably an ancient road or track (S1).
