Full Description
Basil Brown records sites investigated during cutting of main sewer trench in Rickinghall Superior in 1960-1961. Three separate dumps of ox skulls and horns were cut through, one of which was "with several filled in vats and two wells to the north of the Uplands". Basil Brown records the names of two tanners in the Subsidy returns of 1524 and 1568 and assumed that tanning had been an occupation in Rickinghall for a long period. No further information in archive (S1).
