Full Description

Bronze `spur' tanged double-edged knife with leaf shaped blade. Tip missing (modern break). Blade bent over on discovery. Reheating by finder to straighten blade resulted in extensive loss of original surface. Length 18.4 cms (S1).
Comparable to LBA Ewart Park phase knives, e.g. Heathery Burn Cave, Co Durham (S1)(S2).
Found by(see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) in 1977 with a metal detector in upcast from field drainage ditch.
Grid reference originally given as (see 'Not to be published on web' tab for finder/s and/or findspot/s) in 1982 (S3).
Found in area of extensive Rom scatters, BA metalwork finds & BA/IA pottery scatters, see MNL 078, MNL 129 and MNL 136.
