Full Description

Large group of unglazed C13-C14 pottery, including fragments from a Grimston type glazed jug. A small number of later `Late Medieval & Transitional Ware' and Glazed Red Earthenware. Two lava mill stone fragments and a piece of slag (S1).
The finds were made on a piece of arable land adjacent to the World War II airfield. The finds were apparently within a horseshoe shaped area of dark soil, however, this seems to coincide with a corner of a pre-existing field, shown on the 1:10560 map, which disappeared when the airfield was built.
