Full Description

December 2013. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
Probable extraction pits are visible as vegetation marks and slight earthworks on aerial photographs (S1)-(S4). Five areas of probable extraction are visible, stretching between TM 4775 9617 and TM 4861 9574. Given their location on alluvial clays, they seem most likely to relate to clay extraction, probably associated with the nearby post medieval Somerleyton Brickworks (SHER SOL 025).
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 17th December 2013.
