Summary

The cropmark of a ring ditch, potentially representing the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, are visible on aerial photographs. Although the presence of a windmill in this general area on the 1652 Estate Map of Somerleyton could indicate it relates to this later features, although see also BLN 041.

October 2013. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The cropmark of a ring ditch, potentially representing the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, are visible on aerial photographs (S1). The ring ditch and centred on TM 5015 9597 and is incomplete, measuring 17m in diameter. Although the presence of a windmill in this general area on the 1652 Estate Map of Somerleyton (S2) could indicate it relates to this later features, although see also BLN 041.
