Full Description
January 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The cropmarks of a possible ring ditch of uncertain date and interpretation are visible on aerial photographs (S1). The site is centred on TM 5027 9978. The site consists of an extremely broad ring ditch, seemingly partially bisected by the Yarmouth Road. The archaeological origin of this feature is uncertain and it may relate to a former pit or quarry, however the morphology of the site is broadly consistent with the sorts of ditches that surround windmill mounds.
S. Horlock (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 2nd January 2014.
