Full Description
Single ring ditch, circa 25m diameter, noted on SAU AP (S2).
March 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
A single ring ditch, circa 25m diameter is visible as a cropmark on an aerial photograph (S3) centred on TM 4672 7823, and the monument polygon has been moved the north. Although undated, this ring ditch is likely to represent a former Bronze Age round barrow. There is a great deal of geological background ‘noise’ on the photograph, making it difficult to be certain of the true extent of the archaeology. There are several linear ditch features in the vicinity which have been recorded separately as SHER WNF 054.
E. Ford (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 20th March 2014.
