Earthworks of possible World War Two practice trenches are visible on aerial photographs (S1) on land to the east of Church Farm, South Cove. These trenches may relate to a possible compound or stronghold, with a barbed wire obstruction, similar to that to the south (SHER SCV 028). Further World War Two practice trenches are visible to the southwest (SHER SCV 027).
