Summary

The cropmarks of a possible ring ditch, potentially representing the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, were visible on aerial photographs were visible on aerial photographs. There is some uncertainty over the archaeological origin and significance of these cropmarks and they may relate to underlying geology. However the feature was mapped in part due to the level of prehistoric remains, included another barrow recovered in this area during developer-funded work.

June 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The cropmarks of a possible ring ditch, potentially representing the remains of a Bronze Age round barrow, were visible on aerial photographs (S1). There is some uncertainty over the archaeological origin and significance of these cropmarks and they may relate to underlying geology. However the feature was mapped in part due to the level of prehistoric remains, included another barrow recovered in this area during developer-funded work.
