Summary

The possible cropmarks of two ring ditches may be visible on aerial photographs, although were not mapped due to uncertainty over their archaeological origin. The presence of a more convincing Bronze Age round barrow is located to the immediate north (ASY 004).

July 2014. Lothingland, Lowestoft and North Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Mapping Programme.
The possible cropmarks of two ring ditches may be visible on aerial photographs (S1), although were not mapped due to uncertainty over their archaeological origin – although they were added to the ‘Possibles’ layer. The presence of a more convincing Bronze Age round barrow is located to the immediate north (ASY 004). This location is marked as woodland on the 1652 Estate Map of Somerleyton (S2).
