Full Description

Late World War II Heavy Anti-Aircraft Artillery 'Diver' battery, visible as four gun sites, associated buildings, etc, south of Red House, at TM 43295443 (S1). By 1955, the site had disappeared (S2). The 'Diver' sites were constructed to combat German V1s.
Formerly given duplicate HER number (SUE 028) in error - re-numbered as SUE 105 (Dec 2006).
Site of a Second World War heavy anti aircraft (Diver) battery in the Diver Strip south of Red House Farm. It was armed with four 3.7-inch Mark IIc guns equipped with Predictor BTL, and Radar AA No.3 Mark V when it was deployed here on 10th October 1944, and was manned by 419 battery of 138 Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment from 24th November 1944. It formed part of 5 Heavy Anti Aircraft Brigade deployment (S3).
Site of a Second World War light anti aircraft (Diver) battery in the Diver Strip south of Red House Farm. It was manned by 52 Battery of 85 Anti Aircraft Artillery Regiment on 10th October 1944. The armament is not stated. It formed part of the 28 Light Anti Aircraft Brigade deployment (S4).
