Full Description
A barrage balloon site can be seen in Wellington Gardens, Lowestoft, on 1944 (S1) aerial photographs. Nearby two stretches of trench are also visible - possibly connected with the barrage balloon site, or maybe practice trenches. There also appears to be a pillbox close to the barrage balloon site too, and a covered trench to the south-west. In aerial photographs from 1941 (S2), the barrage balloon site and the pillbox do not appear to be in existence, but there is a small L-shaped trench where the covered trench feature is later visible. This may have been some sort of shelter associated with the site. The 2 stretches of trench had been constructed by 1941 though.
