Full Description

World War II anti-aircraft ditches, constructed some time before July 1940, can be seen on Felixstowe Marshes. They consisted of shallow ditches with piles of upcast at either side and were meant to prevent aircraft from landing on flat open areas of land such as the marshes. (S1) (S2)
There are no remains of the ditches by 1965.
See See FEX 104 to FEX 109 and FEX 120 for other anti-aircraft ditches on Felixstowe Marshes.
