Full Description
A small crescent-shaped feature can be seen in photographs from 1940 onwards. It appears, in 1940 ,to consist of a semi-circular row of possibly concrete settings with something in the centre, although it is difficult to see because it is next to the tree line. (S1) In later photographs the feature appears to look more like a concrete ring. The feature is most likely to be a World War II gun emplacement and will have been part of the wartime defences protecting RAF Bawdsey. (S2) (S3)
