Full Description

A number of possible features are visible as cropmarks in a field to the south-east of Wangford Common Covert (S1). The clearest features appear to be linear features in the south-west part of the field, possibly forming part of a small rectilinear enclosure. To the north of the field , and abutting the field boundary, is a curved ditch feature, which may possibly be some kind of ring ditch c 20m across, although this is by no means certain. There are various other marks in the field but many of these have not been mapped, as there is a lot of geological 'noise' on the aerial photographs, which confuses and obscures the archaeology. Also some of the clearer, more regular linear features may well be fairly recent field drains.
